JOC Environmental Policy
Environmental Vision
The Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC), in accordance with its aim of contributing to world peace and promoting sport through the Olympic Movement, will adopt environmentally sound practices at the JOC secretariat and contribute to global environmental protection through continual efforts to improve its environmental management system.
Action Agenda
To promote recycling and reduced resource use at the JOC secretariat though efforts such as lower electricity consumption and efficient use of paper.
To give precedence to green products when making new product acquisitions.
To obey environmental law and other environmental guidelines.
To promote internal environmental educational initiatives to ensure that all JOC staff fully understand the environmental policy while working at the same time to put the policy into action and to publicize it externally.

The JOC became the first out of the 202 NOCs affiliated to the IOC (as of July 2003) to receive ISO14001 review and registration in July 2003.
It renewed its ISO14001 certification in 2006.
